Videoklub

Video Klub is a streaming site for African web series and movies. Content on the site is aggregated from sources like Youtube and Vimeo. People who love this type of content can discover new ones and also stream them all in one place.

Problem

There’s a huge burst of filmmakers leveraging the power of platforms like Youtube you create shows and movies which aren’t listed on streaming sites like Netflix and it could be a hassle to find shows on Youtube with all the other content there.

Solution

I decided to make a platform that hosts just these type of creators. But I needed to put out an MVP (Minimum Viable Product ) within a very short time just to test how people will react to it. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money hosting the content my self so I sourced content from YouTube using embed links which Webflow already supportedAt the time I haven’t seen anything like this done on Webflow. I started off listing what kind of features I wanted to added and did my research if they were possible on Webflow. Features include:

• Categorize content in series and movies
• Allow users to see a description about a series or movie
• Allow users to search for series and movies
• Notify about new episodes by mail
• Allow users to suggest shows

Tools

Google Analytics: to see how the site is performing. So far, over 400 users in roughly over a month. With little to no marketing

Zapier:To call content from youtube and paste in Google sheet (CSV) that belongs to the CMS collection and upload content from Google sheet into webflow CMS
